Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. YES, you can add new add-ons if you missed out during the campaign! You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://the-frost-and-the-flame.backerkit.com/.

So what's next?

I'm hard at work editing the book based on the feedback I've received so far, and I think you'll love it! When it's ready, I'll send it out for more feedback before another round of minor edits and then copyediting. When the text is final, I'll start the internal layout of the book. I always find a few more little things I'd like to tweak during that process, so I'll wait until that's finished before sending the file to Nathaniel, the narrator. I'll also get the final page count to the cover designer, Kerry, so she can get the spine and back cover finished. I hope to have all of that done by the end of the month, at which point I'll be able to give you a timeline on the other perks, too.

Stretch Goal #3, here we come!

WOW! We've unlocked the gorgeous Fair Lands art! What's next?

At $5500, we'll unlock a new short story set in the world of The Wraith!

This stretch goal will be available to EVERY BACKER at every level as an ebook!

I've updated the add-ons to reflect the new stretch goals we've unlocked. You can now add:

• Fair Lands Art Prints - These will be art prints of the Fair Lands art we unlocked! There will be at least two art prints, possibly more, in sizes suitable for framing. I'm also looking at adding a vellum page overlay to this if the design works. It'll be awesome.
  
• Ceramic Mug - Fair Lands Art - This is an 11 oz ceramic mug with your selection of the gorgeous Fair Lands art pieces we've unlocked! There will be at least two choices. You CAN select multiple mugs and get multiple designs.
  
• Travel Mug - with a book quote - This is a stainless steel insulated travel mug with a lid, with a quote from one of the Wraith books.
  
• Ceramic Mug -quote from The King's Sword - This is an 11 oz ceramic mug with an older design and a quote from my first book, The King's Sword. There are a very limited number of these, and I will not be reusing this design.

Stretch Goal #2: Fair Lands Art

WOW! Character art is a go!

So what's next?

At $4500, we will be able to get gorgeous art of the Fair Lands!

This Fair Lands art will be available as art prints. Maybe ceramic mugs too? What do you think? Let me know in messages or comments on the updates!

Additionally, I've added a few more add-ons:

• Notebooks - turquoise softbound notebooks with a quote from Theo from The Wraith and the Rose debossed on the cover - these were in the special pre-order box through Phoenix Crate (which I also run) and have not otherwise been available. I have a limited number of these. Check the main project description for pictures. When these are gone, they are gone - the company is no longer making them in turquoise. If there's great demand, I can have them redone in navy.
   
• The Swag Pack is now available as an add-on! I intended this to be an option from the beginning, but it wasn't showing up. Now it is! Same cost, easier to find.

We're nearly to Stretch Goal #3! I'm excited to see what happens by tomorrow morning.

Most of my beta readers have given me feedback by now, and I'm hard at work on editing! The draft is pretty solid, so the only thing I'm doing during editing is adding in a few scenes to clarify some character growth and tightening up the prose, along with the usual copyediting and typo-catching.

Comments readers have given me so far:

"I said outloud, "This needs to be a movie!" It's SO GOOD!" - E

"I love how extra [spoiler] was when [more spoilers] because we don't really see that part of [spoiler] elsewhere." and "But seriously. The book is brilliant. ...I think this is my favorite of the books.  Actually. It's genius."- A

"You asked about [spoiler] and IT'S PERFECT!!!!" - J

So there you have it. There is still work to be done before it's ready for you, but I'm really happy with it and editing shouldn't take forever. I'm also starting work on the deleted scenes I promised you, and the annotations required to explain where they went and why they didn't make it into the final version. To be honest, my editing process tends to be additive rather than subtractive, so there are not a lot of deleted scenes, so I'm looking forward to hitting Stretch Goal #3 and writing you a short story too! I imagine it will be pretty fluffy with a side of danger, swords, and magic.
